Presidential Election Time
Who do we vote for this year? It really doesn't matter. Why? Have you ever taken a look at how the election of a president actually works? It is the Electoral College that decides who the next president will be. They are supposed to vote with the popular vote but they don't have to. We saw that with Al Gore. He was the popular vote and lost. I gave up trying after that. Plus there are no good candidates anyway. I say we change the way elections are handled. Let the popular vote win the presidency. I say let's get Al Gore back in there. If I could, I would vote for Madeleine Albright. She just may well be one of the smartest people on the planet right now. I am not talking rocket science. I am talking a well balanced knowledge of world affairs. Our survival as a country the way we know it depends on how we deal with the world around us and with our own people.
Kale Soup
Today I made a delicious Portuguese Kale Soup. It is made with Chourico, Kale, potatoes, carrots, onions and others spices as needed. Don't confuse Chourico with the spanish sausage Chorizo. I was born in Fall River, MA. where that area has the highest population of Portuguese people in the country. I think they know a thing or two about Portuguese cooking. This soup is great any time of the year but especially now as we are entering into winter. The smell of the soup cooking gets that rumbling in your tummy going. Try making some. I am sure you will enjoy it.
